What Is Beautiful In Places That Others Might Not See Beauty

What Is Beautiful In Places That Others Might Not See Beauty

This piece started with a busted up mannequin body that needed to find a new purpose.

Next up I worked on a stand for the figure. I found an old humidor in the garage stash and went to work on it.

Now it was time to finish up the figure. I added a metal frame and some old brushes for arms.

The headdress was the last addition. After some detail painting, she was pretty much done.

And so we have..What Is Beautiful In Places That Others Might Not See Beauty. The title for this piece is from  an essay by Ayana Mathis called Against Unreality contained in the book Light the Dark: Writers on Creativity, Inspiration and the Artistic Process edited by Joe Fassler.
