Strange Tales of Magic and Miracles: Michael de Meng in San Cristobal, Mexico, October-November, 2015: Day Eight--The Making of Denice and the Class Critiques

Strange Tales of Magic and Miracles:  Michael deMeng in San Cristobal, Mexico, October, 2016

Review:  This was what I did at home to get ready for the project in Mexico.

Then it was in and out of class, working on the project, and trying not to get distracted by San Cristobal de la Casa.

And so we have...Denice.

Translation:  The Virgin of Remedies, thank you for saving the only woman for me.

Under the theory that sometimes you are the windshield and sometimes you are the bug...

...someone been sabotaging my art!

Day Eight, Friday, October 30, 2015

Today was the day for the projects to be completed and Michael to do his famous critiques.  For anyone who has never taken a workshop with Michael, this is often the highlight of the week.  Everyone gets to lift their heads and actually look at each other's art.  The words that Michael shares with the whole group about each project, its progression through the week and its intent as a work of art is enlightening.

At this particular workshop, the project required us to make a work of art that reflected a miracle in our lives.  The emotion in the room during the critique was something special to experience and I am glad everyone felt safe to share with their classmates.
