Today we were up by 6:00 AM and on the road at 7:00 AM to the Oak Table Café in Silverdale with Dennis and his wife Kimberley. After eats and goodbyes we were on the road for our Olympic National Park adventure.
Our first stop was actually a backtrack to the town of Poulsbo.
We came back here because I wanted to visit the Front Street Gallery: An Artists’ Co-op. This gallery contains the work of Steve Parmelee, an assemblage artist I recently ran across on the Internet. I watched two interviews with him that resonated with me and I wanted to see his work up close and personal. Now I am a proud owner of Jade Dust by Steve Parmelee. Denice bought a hat that is a cross between Laplander and Sound of Music but she looks so darn cute wearing it.
Now that we are on this portion of the trip we really have no agenda except reaching where we are going to sleep tonight (Kalaloch Lodge in Olympic National Park).
Just a few minutes into the park and we find the Mount Walker Viewpoints.
Our next stop was at Lake Cushman.
We are booked to stay two night at Kalaloch Lodge in Olympic National Park in a two bedroom cabin with a wood stove. Probably this is more than we need but it is nice to have the space.
Tonight we had dinner at Creekside Restaurant right on the grounds and then walked the beach until the sun set.
