Out of Chicago Summer Photography Conference Day One

My brother in law Bob Crocker and I decided to enroll in the 2016 Out of Chicago Photography Conference.  We set off on Thursday, June 23, for a drive to the Travelodge Hotel Chicago on East Harrison Street just two blocks off Michigan Avenue. Once we got the luggage in the hotel and the car in the parking lot for the weekend, Bob and I went for a walkabout.

This wall art is by Ricky Lee Gordon (2016).

For lunch Bob and I stopped into Buddy Guy's Legends Club and took in the afternoon's talent.

Lots of famous guitarists have passed through the club and Buddy has a Wall of Honor for their axes.

This wall art is called X Marks the Milky Way by Renee Robbins.

This wall art is by Tarachy (2016).

Here is a sign that explains why there is so much art in this area of Chicago.  How cool is that?

Bob and I signed up for a Chicago Architecture Foundation river tour.  The Foundation has walking and riding tours that are terrific and I encourage you to check them out if you are heading to the Windy City.

Once we were on land again we headed over to Millennium Park, home of the art named Cloud Gate but affectionately called The Bean.

So these two old men, after a busy day in which they never took their fingers off the shutter buttons on their cameras, were ready for dinner and bed.
